Comments on dollmaking: I started making dolls to bring smiles to my childrens faces. My daughter was very shy and the first doll I made for her was a puppet. This was a breakthrough for her. I than was invited to a Octoberfest and there I sold several kinds of puppets. I was discovered by the man who than sold Colleco and Mayfair toys. He offered me $10,000 for my design of a rabbit. I refused and he invited me to sell at the Pasadena Toy Show the following Nov. Since than I have made just about everything. But my passion is the clay. I can do things with it I could never do with any other medium. I am enjoying being a part of the list for I don't get out much and it has opened my eyes to some of the most beautiful dolls I have ever seen. I think of designing as an adventure to a place of beauty -- within and without. I wish you all fulfillment on your journey.
