E-Mail Address: patl@netgate.net or pat_lillich@wvmccd.cc.ca.us
Location: Los Gatos, California USA
Media used: polymer clays, paper, paper clays, metal, bronze, wax, earth clays, found objects, anything that doesnt run faster than I do.......
Type/style of dolls: Don't exactly do dolls anymore, (this comes back to that basic question, what is a doll.....but no one seems to consider my stuff dolls anymore) but do do figures, masks, creatures getting into stabiles and mobiles more ......
Length of time in dollmaking: Started polyclay about 10 years ago, did cloth for 5 or 6 years before that (not counting the stuffed animals I "designed" as a teenager ....which is too long ago for me to remember)
Professional Credits: Have had dolls in newcomer section of Contemporary Doll mag (does that count?)and in the Artist Doll show in Springfield, Ore.; in National Polymer Clay exhibit at Main St. Gallery in Maryland, at the Convergence at Ravensdale (polyclay); raku, stoneware, wax and bronze at Michael Angelo Studios in Santa Cruz, CA...... have taught intro polyclay doll classes off and on for about 5 years.
Comments on dollmaking: Making things is absolutely necessary. The years I didnt do anything, I was pretty crazy. Still pretty crazy, but much happier. Sometimes when I take things from my dreams and make them physical, and people connect to them, it makes life seem almost worth it.
