Comments on dollmaking: I've always loved Christmas and Santas and have collected Santas for many years. I had no idea that first Santa I made to add to "my collection" would be taking me into a career as a full time Santa Maker. I research Santa legends and folklore to lend authenticity to the dress of my figures. Each Santa is one-of-a-kind, hand sculpted faces, hands and feet. No molds or patterns are used. Sheep wool, mohair, horse hair, llama and alpaca is used for the beards. Stiffened cloth clothing makes them easy to clean and maintain, usually tapestries or hand woven fabric is used. The fur is usually mink, but fox, rabbit and other natural furs are also used. Each Santa is signed, dated and titled.
